Donation Update # 2:
The photo is of Francine and her son Patric. They live in one small
room with a chicken and a goat. Francine has only the clothes on her
back. She does not smile easily, although Patric has a lovely nature
and he giggles a lot. Her parents were killed in the
genocide.
Francine has said that the radio opened many new things for
her because she has to 'run her own life'. She feels 'outside
her isolation'. She also enjoys listening to gospel songs and
anything that will help her raise Patric and to survive.
In Rwanda there are so many tragic stories about kids who have been
robbed of a childhood and are forced into taking on adult responsibilities
that no child should have to bear. The radio does bring joy into
otherwise difficult lives
